Louis B. Conte DMD

FAQ

What will happen during my first visit?

A full medical and dental history will be obtained and evaluated. Past and present experiences or goals will be discussed. X-rays when and where needed to conduct a full oral exam and prescribe treatment will be recommended. Normally a cleaning and polishing is performed unless a more severe gum disease is diagnosed. This visit will normally last one hour.

How often should i see a dentist?

The American Dental Association recommends one to two visits each year. This frequency can change depending on the oral health, habits, and risk of disease.

What if I have an emergency when the office is closed?

In an emergency it is advisable to first seek care in a hospital setting where a CT scan / x-rays may be performed to rule out concussion or other serious problems. You should then call the office as soon as possible and Dr. Conte will determine when you need to come in which will likely be that day.

What is the cancelation policy?

Minimum of 24 hours notice is required if a scheduled appointment cannot be kept. A fee of $50 will be charged if the office is not notified of the cancelation.

Minimum of 48 hours notice is required if a scheduled surgery appointment  (i.e. implant, extractions, etc.) cannot be kept. A fee of 10% of your treatment cost will be charged if the office is not notified of the cancelation.

An appointment is considered missed if 24–48 hours notice is not given to the office.

Please do not call the after hours service, patients must speak directly to the office.

What are the office payment polices?

Dr. Conte requires payment prior to the completion of your treatment. If you choose to discontinue care before treatment is completed, you will receive a refund less the cost of the care you did receive.

We accept payments in thirds for any treatments over $1000. For plans requiring multiple appointments, an alternative payment arrangement may be provided.

We offer in-house financing for treatments over $1000. (Subject to credit approval)

For all our patients with dental insurance, we are happy to work closely with your carrier to maximize your insurance benefit, and we will bill them directly for reimbursement for your treatment.

A fee of $50 is charged for patients who miss or cancel more than 3 times in a calendar year without giving our office at least 24 hour notice.

We charge a fee of $30 for all returned checks.
